What it costs
What container drayage costs in Miami
A Miami drayage price is not one number, it is a base plus a list. The base is the run from a specific terminal to your ZIP, and the list is the accessorials that bill only when they happen: a chassis day, a pre-pull, a weekend delivery. Much of the market quotes a base and then adds a separate fuel surcharge on top; ours is all-in, fuel included, which is worth knowing before you compare two numbers that are not the same shape. The tables below are our published anchors, and the calculator on the quote page turns them into a live figure for your port and ZIP.
How the price is built
The core of the price is distance, measured from a particular terminal gate to a particular delivery ZIP. Our base covers the first 10 miles, which is most of the local work out of PortMiami and Port Everglades, and past that the price grows per mile. A very short move is not proportionally cheap, because below a certain radius the cost is the transaction, not the driving: the appointment, the gate, the paperwork, the dock.
On top of the base sit the accessorials, and the honest way to read them is as a menu of things that bill on occurrence. Nobody pays all of them. A straightforward import delivered on a weekday to a commercial dock pays the base and the chassis days and nothing else. The rest of the table exists so that when one of them does happen, the number on the invoice is the number you already saw.
The fuel point, stated plainly
Most carriers quote a base and then add a fuel surcharge on top of it. That surcharge is where quotes stop being comparable: a base that excludes fuel looks lower than a base that includes it, and it is not.
Our base is all-in. Fuel is inside the number, there is no surcharge line, and the figure the calculator shows is the figure the invoice starts from. When you compare us against a quote with a fuel surcharge, do the arithmetic on their side first, then compare.
What moves a price up, legitimately
Weight. An overweight box needs a tri-axle chassis under it and a state permit over it, and both are real costs rather than surcharges. Hazmat needs an endorsed driver and a route that avoids the tunnel. A reefer container on our chassis runs on a genset, which is a machine burning fuel to keep your cargo cold, and it is billed as one.
Timing and place. A weekend or after-hours delivery pays for a driver working outside the normal window. A residential delivery pays for a truck maneuvering where trucks were not planned for. Each of these has its own line in the table below, so none of them arrives as a surprise.
What does not move the price up is the ordinary friction of port work. Waiting time includes a free hour at the terminal and a free hour at delivery before the clock bills at all, because some waiting is simply part of the job.
Every number is a from-anchor
The rates on this page are published anchors, not blind commitments. Every figure is a from-price, and the real rate for your move is confirmed in writing once we have seen the container, the terminal and the destination. That is not hedging; it is the difference between a menu and a contract, and you want the contract in writing anyway.
The fastest way from this page to a real number is the calculator on the quote page. Pick your port, enter your ZIP, and it answers with a live figure built from these same tables, so the price you see there and the price on this page can never disagree.
The numbers

Every figure above is a starting anchor, not a firm price. The real charges can differ once we see the move, and every rate is confirmed in writing before anything moves.

Why is your quote lower than the competitor's if the base looks similar?
Usually the fuel. Most carriers quote a base and then add fuel as a separate line on top. Our base is all-in with fuel included, so the comparison has to be made after their surcharge is added, not before.
Will I pay every accessorial in the table?
No. Accessorials bill on occurrence, not at booking. A weekday delivery to a commercial dock typically pays the base plus chassis days and nothing else. The full table is published so the charges that do happen are ones you already saw priced.
Is the price on the calculator final?
It is a live from-anchor built from the same tables on this page. The final rate is confirmed in writing before the move, once we know the container, the terminal and the delivery. If something about the move changes the price, you hear it before the truck rolls, not on the invoice.
What makes a container expensive to move?
Weight past legal limits, hazmat, reefer cargo needing a genset, and deliveries outside normal hours or to residential addresses. Each has its own published line. An ordinary legal-weight dry box delivered on a weekday is the cheap case, and most containers are the cheap case.
