免堆期最后一天是今天还是明天？
计时表在港口跑，不在公路上跑
滞港费（demurrage）从免堆期最后一天（last free day）的次日开始在码头计算，不管这票货是走五英里还是五百英里。我们先把集装箱提前提箱（pre-pull）到自己的堆场，等您准备好再发往 Ocala，而不是让箱子留在码头一边产生费用，一边等收货人腾出月台。
整箱直送，或者换装转运
跑 Ocala 有两种方式
底盘车整箱直送。 集装箱本身送到 Ocala。收货人能快速周转的时候，这样最简单，因为箱子、底盘车和滞箱费（per diem）的计时是一起走的。
换装转运到挂车。 货物在仓库里从集装箱卸出来，装上挂车。空箱当周就在 Miami 还给船公司，320 英里的这一段运输也不用再按集装箱和底盘车的费率付钱。超过大约 250 英里之后，这通常是更便宜的答案，所以我们两种都报。
The run from the port to Ocala
Ocala is about 320 road miles from PortMiami, up the Florida Turnpike and on to I-75, and transit is next day. It is one of the long Florida lanes, far enough that how the freight travels matters more than which road it takes to get there.
Both modes get priced. Running the container through means the box is away from the port for days and paying chassis and per diem the whole time. Transloading at the Hialeah Gardens warehouse near the port puts the load on a trailer and sends the empty back to the line, which is usually the cheaper answer at this distance. The exception is freight that has to stay in the box, and that gets quoted too.
Delivering in Ocala
Ocala is the seat of Marion County, on I-75 in central Florida, horse country and heavy equipment country at the same time. A lot of the freight coming here is oversize agricultural gear or machinery, so this lane runs step deck and lowboy more than most Florida runs do. For those loads the ground at the delivery and the machine waiting to take the piece off matter far more than any dock.
For a container, send the container number, the steamship line, the last free day and the delivery address. For machinery, send the length, width, height and actual weight, because those four numbers decide the trailer, the route and the permits.

平板车
最常用的敞开式平板，有48英尺和53英尺两种。可以从侧面、上方或者后面装货，货物高度超过8英尺6英寸就开始需要许可。
step deck 凹板车
主台板下沉，比普通平板车多出大约18英寸的合法装载高度。也叫 drop deck。
double drop 双下沉平板车
两段高台板之间是固定的凹槽，用来装高大件，且这类货不需要自己开上车。
低平板车（lowboy）
台面最低的一种挂车，用来运又高又重的机械。凹槽较短，所以限制通常是长度而不是重量。
Piggyback forklift
A rough-terrain forklift that rides on a mounting kit at the rear of the flatbed and unloads where there is no dock and no site equipment. The freight pays for it twice: in the surcharge and in the payload its weight displaces, which is why it is quoted only where it saves more than it costs.

封闭式、托盘化货物，有48英尺和53英尺两种。凡是从集装箱换装出来、继续走内陆段的货，默认就用它。
冷藏挂车
控温厢式挂车，有48英尺和53英尺两种。冷藏集装箱的货换装之后继续走内陆段，换的就是这种车。
离开 Hialeah Gardens 之前
Hialeah Gardens 一座仓库，超过 50 个装卸门
所有需要从底盘车上卸下来的作业都在这里完成，在 Hialeah Gardens，离各港口只有几分钟车程，货物在发往任何地方之前先经过这里。换装转运（transload）、越库（cross-dock）、仓储，或者以您的名义收货和发货。 跑 Ocala 的时候，仓库往往正是让这条线路变便宜的原因，因为空箱直接在 Hialeah Gardens 还给船公司，不用再跟着跑一趟。

Can oversize machinery be moved from the Miami ports to Ocala?
Yes, and it is a normal part of this lane. Ocala takes a lot of agricultural and construction equipment, which rides a step deck or a lowboy rather than sitting in a container. Height and width set the route and the permits, and both take time to arrange, so send the dimensions and the real weight as early as you can rather than on the day the machine has to move.
Is 320 miles too far to send the container itself to Ocala?
Not impossible, just usually not the cheapest. The box would be away from Miami for days with the chassis and per diem running the whole time, while the steamship line still expects it back. Transloading near the port ends that clock early and a trailer carries the freight north. It is priced both ways, and freight that has to stay sealed is the case where sending the box wins.
