Florida and Texas, both ways
Miami to Texas, and Texas to Miami

Where in Texas
Miami to Texas, city by city
The lane runs Miami to Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Laredo, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Lubbock. If your city is not on that list it is still on the lane: those are where the freight clusters, not the edge of where the truck goes.
What moves between Florida and Texas
Dallas and Fort Worth are the distribution hub for everything carrying on into the middle of the country, and they take the largest share of this lane. Houston is the shorter run and the one that pairs naturally with Gulf freight and industrial supply. San Antonio and Austin sit between them, and the lane runs on to El Paso, Lubbock, Corpus Christi and the border at Laredo and McAllen.
Westbound it is usually retail and e-commerce stock, packaging, building materials, machinery and parts, plus freight that landed at a South Florida port and is headed inland. Eastbound it is manufactured goods, plastics and industrial supply out of the Houston side, retail replenishment out of Dallas, and cross-border freight coming up from the Rio Grande Valley toward Florida. Both directions load for their own shippers.
How the run to Texas actually goes
About 1,300 road miles and two to three days, depending on whether it is Houston or Dallas at the end. The first leg is spent getting out of Florida: almost everything leaving the state runs north through a narrow corridor before it turns west, so the first night usually falls in north Florida or the Panhandle rather than at a state line that feels further along. Driver hours set the rest of it.
The far end is the half people plan least. A receiver with a firm appointment window has to be reached backwards from that window, and an appointment missed by an hour is frequently lost for a day. A drop trailer suits a dock whose loading takes half a day; a live load keeps the truck standing while it is worked. We run it both directions, and a Texas to Miami load is planned and priced as its own load.
What to send for a rate on this lane
Pickup and delivery addresses, the window at each end, the weight, the pallet or piece count and how it is packaged, and what the commodity is. A 53 ft dry van carries about 45,000 lb and a reefer in the same footprint about 44,000, so heavy freight has its trailer settled by the weight rather than by preference. Say if it needs temperature control, or an open deck because it loads from the side or the top.
If the freight arrives by sea, say so at the request stage. Coming out of the ocean box at the Hialeah Gardens dock before the run west returns the container, ends per diem, and stops the inland leg paying container and chassis rates. On a lane this short that decision is worth making deliberately rather than by default, and it is worth asking which way is cheaper for your load.

Avant de quitter Hialeah Gardens
Un entrepôt à Hialeah Gardens, plus de 50 quais de chargement
A full truckload is built here first, in Hialeah Gardens. Palletize, consolidate, wrap and load out of the warehouse, so what rolls out is one clean sealed trailer instead of a half-loaded guess. If you are shipping loose freight rather than a container, this is where it becomes a load.

Questions
Réponses directes
Is Miami to Dallas priced by the mile?
No. It is quoted as a lane and a load, which is why no rate is published here. The same 1,300 miles costs differently depending on the weight, the trailer, whether either end drops or lives, how tight the delivery window is and what is available to load for the trip back. A per-mile figure would be a guess dressed up as a price. Send the load and you get a number for that load.
Is Houston a shorter run than Dallas from Miami?
Yes, and it is the difference between the two ends of the transit on this lane. Houston sits closer to the Gulf side of the corridor out of Florida, so it lands at the fast end of two to three days, while Dallas and Fort Worth run further inland and usually take the longer side of it. San Antonio and Austin sit between them. The delivery appointment often matters more than either figure.
Can you deliver to Laredo and McAllen on the Texas lane?
Yes, both run on the same lane, down past San Antonio to the border. If the freight is crossing the border, say so and the customs side is coordinated with the truck. Tell us the delivery address and the window, and if the freight is moving under bond say so at the request stage, because that changes the paperwork the driver carries.
Can one truck make two stops in Texas?
Often, if the stops are close enough and the windows agree. Dallas and Fort Worth, or Houston and a second Houston-area dock, are usually workable on one load. Dallas and Houston together is most of a day apart, so a second stop there adds a day rather than an hour. Send both addresses and both appointment windows at the request stage and it is planned as a two-stop load from the start.
