What container drayage costs in Miami

A Miami drayage price is not one number, it is a base plus a list. The base is the run from a specific terminal to your ZIP, and the list is the accessorials that bill only when they happen: a chassis day, a pre-pull, a weekend delivery. Much of the market quotes a base and then adds a separate fuel surcharge on top; ours is all-in, fuel included, which is worth knowing before you compare two numbers that are not the same shape. The tables below are our published anchors, and the calculator on the quote page turns them into a live figure for your port and ZIP.

Demurrage, per diem and detention: who charges what, and how much

Three different companies run three different clocks on the same container, and the bills are not interchangeable. The terminal charges demurrage because the box is still on its ground. The shipping line charges per diem because its container is still out in the world. The carrier charges detention because a driver is waiting at a dock. Knowing which party sent the bill tells you what could have stopped it, and two of the three are largely preventable.

What a pre-pull costs against a day of demurrage

A pre-pull is one extra move: we collect the container before your dock is ready and hold it on our yard until it is. It exists because demurrage stops when the box leaves the terminal, and demurrage bills per container per day and escalates the longer the box sits. The pre-pull is a fixed cost paid once. The demurrage is a rising cost paid daily. That is the whole comparison, and this page walks through when it wins and when it does not.

Chassis charges explained: day rate, split, tri-axle

A container does not roll on its own. It rides a chassis, the wheeled frame under the box, and the chassis bills by the day from the day it goes under your container until the day it comes out. Our day rate is in the table below. The two chassis charges that surprise people are the split and the tri-axle, and both have plain explanations.

What warehousing and container unloading cost in Miami

Warehouse pricing confuses people because it bundles two different jobs into one invoice: storage, which is space over time, and handling, which is labor per touch. They price differently, they scale differently, and a quote that mixes them is a quote you cannot check. Our warehouse sits minutes from the ports with over 50 dock doors, the table below shows every line, and every number on it is a from-anchor confirmed in writing before the work starts.

Do you publish drayage and warehousing prices?

Yes, where a number can be stated honestly. The cost pages carry the base rate for a drayage run off the South Florida ports, the accessorials that get added to it, what demurrage, per diem and detention cost per day, what a pre-pull costs against them, chassis day rates, and what unloading and storing a container costs by the pallet. Every one is a from figure: the written quote for your move is the price.

How do I get an exact price for my container?

Send the port or terminal, the delivery ZIP, the container size, the last free day and anything special about the load, and a written quote comes back with the base and every accessorial on its own line. Drayage off the South Florida ports also prices instantly on the rate calculator, which builds the number from the same rate card as these pages.

Why do two drayage quotes for the same lane come out so different?

Usually the fuel and the accessorials. One quote folds fuel into the base and the other adds it as a line; one includes the chassis day and the other bills it after the fact; one prices the pre-pull and the other lets demurrage run. The pages here name every line so two quotes can be compared item by item rather than total against total.

Which charges surprise importers most often?

Per diem, because it keeps running after the container leaves the terminal and until the empty goes back; chassis days, because the clock starts the day the chassis goes under the box; and the difference between unloading a palletized container and a floor-loaded one, which is a forklift hour against a crew's day. Each has its own page here with the numbers and the ways to keep them down.
